NTS offers a comprehensive “Train the Trainer” program for many of its most popular courses. Train the Trainer Programs are designed to provide an in-depth look at a subject matter and to position attendees with the technical knowledge to teach the subject matter.

Positions training attendees with the technical knowledge to teach the subject matter. Emphasis is placed on what to teach and how to present the information so attendees will be able to learn, retain and apply the information.

Previous completion of the standard course is recommended.

COURSE SYLLABUS

Excavation Competent Person

The Competent Person for Excavation Safety Train the Trainer class is designed to prepare students to teach Competent Person for Excavation Safety to construction workers. Emphasis is placed on what to teach and how to present the information so students will be able to learn, retain and apply the information.

Course Topics:

In-depth review of the OSHA Excavation Standard
Soil Mechanics and Soil Analysis
Protective System Planning and Selection
Job Planning Related to Trench Safety
Competent Person Responsibilities
Techniques for presenting to audiences in various class formats

Confined Space Awareness Construction

The Confined Space Construction Train the Trainer class is designed to prepare students to teach Confined Space Awareness classes to construction workers. Emphasis is placed on what to teach and how to present the information so students will be able to learn, retain and apply the information.

Topics Covered:

The new 1926.1200 OSHA Standard for Confined Space Entry
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Ventilation Requirements
Atmospheric Testing and Equipment
Duties and Responsibilities of the Entrant, Attendant, Competent Person, and Supervisor
Hands-on Confined Space Equipment
Training Including Gas Detection Monitors
Techniques for presenting to audiences in various class formats

Both classes are a 53 hour course.

NTS offers the class in both English and Spanish.
