Portable Bridge Provides Necessary Solution for Site Development Contractor

A Northern Virginia site development contractor had been engaged to clear a site located across a creek.  The area didn’t have the means to access the site other than crossing the creek, which the Army Corp of Engineers had forbidden on this project.

The contractor needed the means to bring the heavy equipment necessary to perform the site work across the creek without disturbing the creek. The contractor reached out to National Trench Safety to see what options may be available for this job. After reviewing the options, the contractor elected to use a portable bridge system that would span the creek.  The bridge was rated to withstand the weight of the equipment while ensuring the creek wasn’t disturbed. Once the site work was finished, the plan would be to divert the creek along the site’s boundary.

In addition to portable bridges such as these, National Trench Safety also carries a line of trench bridges and walkways designed to allow employees a safe and secure way to access a location or cross the excavation.
