National Trench Safety Announces New Branch Manager for Chicago Location

Date:  October 4th, 2013

HOUSTON, T.X.—National Trench Safety, LLC (NTS), a Houston-based company specializing in the rental and sales of trench and traffic safety equipment, as well as OSHA-compliant training classes, announced today that it has hired Dan Williamson to manage the company’s Chicago, IL branch location.

“We are fortunate and excited to have someone with Dan’s experience, knowledge and reputation to join the NTS team,” commented Ron Chilton, President of NTS.  “Dan is a well-recognized industry veteran with many years of experience. With over 25 years of experience in the trench safety industry, we feel Dan will immediately increase our profile and presence in our Chicago operation.”

Dan comes to NTS from Cerda Industries. At Cerda, he spent 12 years managing the shoring product line for the company and promoting the products nationwide.  Prior to joining Cerda, Dan worked for Trinity/GME as its general manager for the slide rail division.  At GME, Dan was instrumental in getting GME into the slide rail business and helped to develop a nationwide dealer network for the product line. Dan is also recognized as a master NUCA instructor for Competent Person for Trench and Excavation as well as Confined Space Entry.

“We opened our Chicago operation in the first quarter of this year and have been encouraged by the acceptance and performance of our branch in this new market,” explained Chilton.  “We believe that Dan will help add the necessary guidance and knowledge to allow us to accelerate the growth in Chicago. Dan and the rest of the Chicago team will be working hard to make NTS the key trench and traffic safety partner to contractors in the area.”

NTS currently has twenty one operating branch location nationwide.  Those locations are spread throughout Arizona, California, Florida Illinois, Louisiana, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Utah.

In maintaining its objective of building a nationwide network of trench and traffic safety branches, NTS plans to open one additional branch operation in late 2013 with additional branches to follow in 2014.  For strategic reasons, Chilton declined to comment on the location of the additional new branches.
